Christmas 2008 and Happy 2009

We had wonderful end of 2008 and hope everyone had a very happy holiday season. Hailey is changing so much and still keeping us on our toes. She is talking up a storm with so many phrases and will repeat anything we say. She's still very busy but loves to play games including her own version of peek-a-boo called 'where's Hailey?'. We are loving every minute and having so much fun with her every day.We began celebrating Christmas a few days early at home and Hailey loved opening and playing with her gifts. Her new books are now some of her favorites and we very often get asked to push her around the house on her tricycle. We spent Christmas up in Oregon with Andrew's family and had a wonderful time. Hailey loved helping decorate the Christmas tree and got really excited about some of the ornaments, but nothing topped the red garland beads. On Christmas Eve, Hailey and her pal Hippo left out some cookies for Santa (and we were all amazed she didn't try to eat one). Christmas morning she was very excited to see the cookies had been replaced with a giant stuffed panda bear almost as big as her. Hailey loved opening her presents this year and kept requesting 'nother, nother'. She seemed to love the opening part more than what was inside and even took it upon herself to help open everybody else's presents. Portland got a lot of snow before we arrived and we went out Christmas afternoon to play and build a snowman. Hailey loved to run around was very excited to help, so we actually ended up with a whole snow-family. She even practiced hauling snowballs around and enjoyed throwing them at Daddy. We went to Cannon Beach for a few days after Christmas where we enjoyed an ocean front view house and took some time to relax with Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Kirsten. Although the weather was very different than when we were there this summer, we enjoyed a walk on the beach and barely escaped a sneaker wave. Back at home, Hailey awoke to find one more Christmas present waiting - her own kitchen. She has already spent hours playing with it and makes us laugh when she puts the ice cream in the washing machine and the bananas in the microwave. We're sure it will bring her many more hours of entertainment and can't wait to try all the gourmet meals she'll prepare. Our 2009 has been off to a great start and we're looking forward to all that this year will bring. We're sure Hailey will continue to keep us laughing (and probably pulling out our hair at times) and know she'll be a great big sister with our new arrival in June. We wish you all a year full of smiles.

Hi!! It was good to see you all in Portland. I really enjoyed hanging out. Your posting was great as usually. Hopefully I'll make it down to NM later this year to visit for the weekend.
