Christmas 2011

We headed North to spend Christmas in Colorado with Kim's family and had a wonderful time.  Hailey and Megan were very excited to wake up our first morning to over a foot of fresh snow.  Although there were snowballs and snow angels, sledding was by far their favorite activity.  After the first day, Megan actually opened her eyes while going down the hill, and by the third day, was going over the bumps all by herself.  Even though it was her first time sledding, Hailey was constantly looking to go further, faster and catch more air.
Sometimes the only way to get the girls back inside when we were all tired of going up and down the hill was the promise of hot chocolate.
We all enjoyed our visit and Hailey and Megan especially loved playing, reading, and spending time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Kevin.  We made some beautiful gingerbread houses this year and as always, the girls sampled quite a bit of candy while decorating.
On Christmas Eve, Hailey and Megan carefully set out cookies and milk for Santa and speculated about which one he would eat first.
Christmas morning brought a lot of excitement, squeals of joy, and smiles all around as it was so nice to be together.
Thank you to our Colorado family for all the fun times and helping to make our holiday so special!
After being away from home for a week, we expected Maddie to be happy to have things back to normal.  However, this was how she spent her first day home, probably sad that the holidays were over.
