We, of course, had to decorate the pumpkins we got from the patch, so we tried some new things this year. First, we gave the girls a plate of paint, a brush, and a pumpkin and let their creative juices flow. Megan tried a bit of finger painting and even tasted the paint a bit, but went for more of a minimalist approach.
Hailey, on the other hand, experimented with every color and made sure to cover every bit of exposed pumpkin. The result of mixing all the colors together: a lovely shade of purple.
Excitement and anticipation filled the air as we got ready to carve the larger pumpkins.
Hailey dug right in cleaning out her pumpkin and loved the feel of the seeds in her hand. She did almost the whole thing by herself and even chose the designs for the pumpkins.Megan was very curious to look in the pumpkin and watch all the activity, but did not like getting the strings or seeds on her hand. If a little bit did get on her, she fussed until it was taken off. Only when the pumpkin was completely cleaned out, did she pretend to scoop it out.
The result: 'best friends' and one happy jack-o-lantern.
