Deck the Halls

Hailey has really gotten into the Christmas spirit this year and loves everything about the holiday. She helped decorate the tree and wanted to put every ornament at her level all in a row.
Every morning she asks to turn the tree lights on and seems to find a new favorite ornament each day. When driving around at night, she loves to look at all the neighborhood lights and comments that "they are so pretty, pretty, pretty."

We had a great time decorating a gingerbread house with friends and although more candy may have gone in her mouth than on the house, Hailey is very proud of it.
Hailey loves Christmas music and seems to sing it everywhere we go. It's amazing how fast she learns all the words to the songs. The other night, when tucking her into bed, Andrew stopped after the chorus of Jingle Bells. Hailey's quick response was "Daddy, you forgot to dash through the snow!"

For days, Hailey has been telling us that she wants to visit "the real Santa, the one with the beard," so that is on our agenda for this weekend. We mentioned that it might be nice to leave Santa a cookie to eat on Christmas Eve, but Hailey thinks he'd rather have fruit snacks and goldfish crackers.

It has certainly been a fun start to the holiday and we can't wait for all that the next week brings.
