An Early Birthday Celebration

Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa came down from Oregon to visit and we celebrated Hailey's birthday a few days early. She was very excited to see all her presents and eager to open them. As she opened each one, she'd ask "What is it?, What's inside?" followed by an "ooooo" after getting all the wrapping paper off. Hailey's big gift was a new water table. She has a blast playing with it inside so we can't wait until the weather warms up and we can actually take it outside and fill it with water. Kim attempted her first (of many to come, we're sure) molded and decorated cake and Hailey was excited to blow out the candles. Although the rest of us gobbled up the cake, Hailey was only fond of the frosting and ice cream - sugar, sugar, sugar! Hailey loved all the extra attention from Grandma and Grandpa and enjoyed showing off all her toys and growing vocabulary. She was also reunited with her giant panda (from Santa last year) and continues to carry it around and wrestle it. Hailey loves to have her picture taken and often requests it if we have the camera out. We're still working on trying to take pictures fast enough to get shots of her actually looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. Occasionally, we're able to capture the perfect moment.

That's a great cake! I admire those willing to take that on!

I'm jealous that Hailey likes to have her picture taken. I often have to hide the camera in order to get pictures of Ellie.
