A Little Hiking

This past weekend we escaped for an afternoon in the woods.  The kids literally took off running when we got to the trail and were excited to see what was around each corner.

Despite a few raindrops, we enjoyed a picnic lunch under the pine trees and even had a little guest, who the girls named Chippy.

Hailey and Megan loved the many bridges along the trail, while Maddie kept looking longingly to jump into the water below.

At the end of our hike we cooled off in the river which was nice and "brrrr cold" as the kids called it.

All that walking made a few of us tired for a little nap on the way home.
